Uncutting

kbowenxox:

I know I post about this a lot, but it’s something I feel so strongly about.

I used to be totally freaked out by uncircumcised penises. I though they were gross and weird. I didn’t think I would ever experience one and I was okay with that. Last summer was the first time I had ever seen one in real life. I had only seen one on the internet a few times and the times I had I was repulsed.

Maybe it was due to my slight intoxication or the fact that when it was hard, I didn’t notice a difference. (Probably the drinking because they are really different.) But I wasn’t freaked out. I didn’t even realize it until we had sex a second time that it was any different. I took it upon myself to investigate circumcision and what it was all about. Here is what I’ve learned not only through research but things I have experienced.

They are not dirty! They can get dirty, but most males with uncircumcised penises are clean! Just like females, they require a little extra work when cleaning. But when I say a little, I mean A LITTLE. You simply pull back the skin and run it under water. Just like vaginas, they are self cleaning. They produce their own natural cleansers.

Which brings me to my next point. Natural. They are so natural I can’t say it enough. There is a reason out bodies have evolved the way they have. There is a purpose for everything. Foreskin’s purpose is to provide an easier glide for sex and to secrete hormones. It also protects the penis from becoming dry and chapped. It’s not there for no good reason.

Circumcision does not prevent cancer. I haven’t done much research on this subject but I know for a fact it doesn’t prevent cancer.

Think about how many nerve endings are in that area. Think about what happens when you cut them off. They’re thrown away. Men can lose up to 60% of what they feel as a result of circumcision. Ladies, imagine if you lost 60% of what you felt. For some of us, boy or girl, getting off is difficult enough. Why add to it? I know that if I lost over half of the feeling in my genitals I would be pissed.

Circumcision is a cosmetic surgery. Most parents who do it to their sons only do it because they think it looks better. Yes, there are parents who do it for religious purposes, but that’s different. Still weird, but a different subject. (Circumcision was created as a purpose to keep young men from masturbating because those religious leaders though it was wrong, btw) For the most part, people only do it for the aesthetics. You would think they would be okay with something so natural, right? Our society has been full of Christians for so long that it has become “normal”. Not that Christians are to blame or that I’m belittling their beliefs. I’m just pointing out that it’s been what we were taught for so long. It’s time to change that. It’s time to stand up to infant circumcision and let our boys make the decision for themselves.

I will never circumcise my children and neither should anyone else.
