A question for those who have a strong opinion against circumcision: how many people in your social circle know about your position? I am curious because, in my experience, broaching the subject has been both difficult and tricky in terms of my own hesitation and the wide variety of responses I received. At the same time I consider personal appeals to be particularly powerful, because of the unique credibility we have within our social circles.

My answer is 9, although I’m excluding people that I’m no longer in touch with, as well as those I’ve met through intactivism (I attended two local intactivist events last fall). Looking forward to seeing your numbers!

Excluding Tumblr and intactivist communities, just 3. I’m always surprised when people mention circumcision coming up in their day-to-day conversations with friends and family. The topic just… never comes up with the people I know. Hmm.
