I feel like an accurate comparison for the people wanting to compare FGM and MGM would be to ask if they would cut off their daughter’s clitoral hood (or if it’s acceptable to cut off baby girl’s clitoral hoods). While FGM practiced in other countries is often way more severe than this, I feel like the answer would still be no even if they had no problem cutting of a baby boy’s foreskin even though they are basically the same thing? (Correct me if I’m wrong.)

That’s a good comparison in terms of function (protecting the glans, whether it be a glans penis or a clitoral glans), and probably the most straightforward comparison overall.

Though in terms of aesthetics, labia seems to be the best comparison (just as some people speak of foreskin being ugly, others speak of longer inner labia being ugly). And in terms of sexual sensation, the best comparison would probably be the clitoris itself.
